General Motors Insurance is hiring a Principal Salesforce Developer to serve as a hands-on developer and key influencer shaping the architectural future of our Salesforce solutions. This role focuses on reimagining the employee customer experience by rebuilding the Dealer Originations platform from the ground up on Salesforce, driving technical thought-leadership, and mentoring others.
What You'll Do
- Work with business segment leaders to identify high-impact initiatives that drive business strategy forward.
- Act as a key influencer and lead development engineer in rebuilding the Dealer Originations platform on Salesforce.
- Promote process improvement in Salesforce using appropriate methodologies to enhance productivity and performance.
- Influence projects and initiatives through technical expertise.
- Drive technical thought-leadership, acting as a change agent and advocate for new methodologies.
- Nurture a strong internal network by working across the business unit to foster a culture of trust, engagement, and integrity.
- Drive cross-team solutions, anticipating and addressing problems ahead of need.
- Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues.
- Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.
- Demonstrate strong judgement and ability to make data driven decisions.
What We're Looking For
- Greater than 10 years in related function.
- 3-5 years leading through mentorship in related field.
- 3-5 years leading projects and initiatives through influence.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate degree or High School Equivalent plus 2 additional years of related experience.
- Related certifications and/or licenses.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience as a full stack developer in C#, Java, or other languages.
- Demonstrable hands-on development and architecture on the Salesforce platform.
- Experience with 2 or more complete implementations on Salesforce along with experience working in established orgs.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Salesforce integration patterns including API’s, events, integrations, asynchronous and batch processes.
- Expert level experience with custom Salesforce development including LWC’s, Apex, JavaScript, Restful webservices, platform events.
- Experience with leading cross-functional and/or global initiatives from start to finish.
- Advanced knowledge of business acumen and a deep understanding of business implications of decisions across cross-functional teams.
- Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Ability to provide leadership through mentorship, influence, inspiration, collaboration and teamwork.
- Member of and recommendation by accredited association in related field.
