Amplitude is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join our People & Places function. In this unique role, you'll focus on designing, deploying, and scaling AI agents to automate high-volume tactical HR work, freeing the team to concentrate on strategic, human-centric tasks. You'll partner across HR functions to identify opportunities and build solutions, operating without a traditional external roadmap or feature backlog.
What You'll Do
- Map and audit People team processes to identify AI-ready opportunities; maintain a prioritized backlog from quick wins to longer-horizon initiatives.
- Evaluate existing HR tech (like Workday and Greenhouse) for underutilized AI capabilities before building new solutions.
- Design and deploy AI agents and automations, defining workflow logic, decision rules, and guardrails for sensitive HR contexts.
- Own end-to-end rollout: requirements, testing, change management, adoption, and iteration.
- Serve as the People team’s strategic AI advisor, translating market possibilities into practical, impactful solutions.
- Define and track success metrics (time saved, error reduction, adoption) and build feedback loops for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in product management, with meaningful experience inside or directly supporting an HR / People Operations environment.
- Hands-on experience scoping and deploying AI or automation in HR contexts (e.g., onboarding agents, self-service bots, compensation tools).
- Familiarity with modern HR tech stacks (ATS, HRIS, LMS) and their native AI capabilities.
- Experience with AI/LLM tools — no-code platforms, API-based solutions, or prompt-driven agents — and translating them into real workflows.
- Ability to write real code (Python, JavaScript, or similar). You can read a diff, debug a broken script, and build a working prototype without an engineer holding your hand.
- Strong ability to earn trust with non-technical stakeholders and translate operational pain into clear product requirements.
- Bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and good judgment about where AI should and shouldn’t operate in people processes.
- Built conversational AI agents for HR use cases (onboarding assistants, policy Q&A bots, manager coaching tools).
- Experience with agentic frameworks — n8n, Zapier, LangChain, Claude, or similar.
Nice to Have
- Navigated compliance and data privacy in HR AI contexts (EEOC, GDPR, SOC 2).
- Built agents or automations for international / multi-region environments, with hands-on appreciation for data residency, local labor law variation, multi-language support, and cultural nuances.
Technical Stack
- Languages: Python, JavaScript
- Platforms/Tools: n8n, Zapier, LangChain, Claude
- HR Systems: Workday, Greenhouse
Team & Environment
You will be embedded within the People & Places function, partnering across Talent, Total Rewards, HRBPs, L&D, and People Ops.
