Graphcore is looking for a Principal Engineer, Power Engineering to define the architecture of power delivery components from grid to chip. You will collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure the infrastructure meets customer requirements and standards of performance, reliability, and scalability.
What You'll Do
- Provide thought leadership, planning, and design for power delivery from data center power drop through delivery to systems and chips.
- Establish the power roadmap and work with vendors to align their planned future technologies with our system engineering roadmap.
- Work to improve the reliability and efficiency of power engineering components over time.
- Specify rack-level power components, including hardware and firmware for power shelves, and design for resiliency.
- Set data center power policies for power buffer/oversubscription, job scheduling based on power, and monitoring and accommodation of faults.
- Resolve telemetry and data requirements to support power policy algorithms.
- Ensure the robustness of IT power during grid disturbances and compatibility of IT power loads with grid requirements.
- Apply expertise in board and system-level power regulation components, including VRM, TLDR, and POL technologies.
- Help develop new technologies to increase efficiency, understanding manufacturing capabilities and limitations.
- Provide guidance to power equipment manufacturers, ODMs, and engineering teams on testing and validation procedures for power hardware and firmware.
- Develop and test hardware prototypes to explore and validate new power delivery concepts.
- Tackle and resolve sophisticated power hardware and firmware issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering with specialized knowledge of Power Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability in power system and delivery architecture, design, and development.
Work Mode
This is a hybrid position based in Austin or San Jose.
