Capital One Canada is seeking a Principal Associate, Product Design to join our Experience Design (XD) team. Reporting to the Manager of Product Design, you will focus on enriching our customers' digital experiences, advocating for their needs, and collaborating across functions to deliver on strategic business initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with stakeholders and leaders in design, product management, engineering, and marketing to justify design decisions, provide escalation management, and focus team activities around OKRs.
- Work cross-functionally with XD researchers, product, engineering, and marketing teams to prioritize and deliver on business initiatives.
- Advocate for customer needs in mobile and web experiences.
- Define and implement standards and best practices for digital product design to ensure consistency across platforms.
- Contribute to our Design System, helping to ensure governance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Present and communicate design decisions to various stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor and analyze design, emerging digital technologies, and fintech trends to inform our product roadmap.
- Influence and educate product teams on how UX activities can support them through the Product Development Lifecycle.
- Strategically vision and lead discovery work with minimal guidance.
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of UX/Product Design experience.
- 1+ year of experience leading/mentoring Product Designers with a defensible record of growing design talent.
- Exceptional working knowledge of modern design tools and methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree in HCI/UX, Social Science, Psychology, Research, or other related field, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of experience working on consumer-facing digital products in a regulated environment.
- 2+ years of experience optimizing product design workflows with generative artificial intelligence.
- Experience designing for motion, micro-interactions, and animations in mobile apps.
Technical Stack

You will be part of the Experience Design (XD) Team, reporting directly to the Manager of Product Design.
