Southwest Christian School is seeking a full-time PreKindergarten Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program for our youngest learners (ages 3-5) that guides students toward academic potential and positive spiritual development.
What You'll Do
- Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program for Pre-Kindergarten students.
- Inspire learning and cultivate positive relationships with students.
- Provide classroom instruction and assessment across all subject areas, incorporating a biblical worldview.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages positive social interaction and active engagement.
- Use available resources, including technology, to deliver instruction and assess learning.
- Maintain clear, open, professional communication with team members, parents, and staff.
- Participate actively in the school community.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A current ACSI and/or State Teaching Certificate.
- At least 3 years of classroom teaching experience at the early childhood level (PK-2).
- Experience using technology for instruction and productivity, specifically Google Suite/Classroom.
- A deep commitment to a daily walk with Jesus Christ through prayer, devotional study, and church membership.
- Spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to guide children.
- Recognition of parents as primarily responsible for their children’s education and a commitment to partnership.
- The ability to work gracefully with parents, students, and staff to develop a unified educational program.
- Cooperation with school leadership to implement policies and procedures.
- The ability to accept responsibilities and make competent, professional decisions.
- Eagerness to participate in professional development and evaluation processes.
- A professional personal appearance that models Christian values of cleanliness and modesty.
Nice to Have
- A Master’s degree.
- Capturing Kids Hearts or similar Social-Emotional Learning professional development training.
