Nuvance Health Medical Practice CT is looking for a Preauthorization Representative to join our Danbury Rheumatology team. You will be central to facilitating patient flow through the pre-registration process, managing prior authorizations for in-office medications and infusions. This role ensures financial clearance and smooth coordination between clinicians, patients, and insurance providers.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the primary coordinator for prior authorization of all in-office medications and infusions as directed by clinicians.
• Communicate with insurance providers regarding medical necessity to obtain authorization.
• Perform insurance eligibility verification and execute payer requirements.
• Ensure proper selection of insurance, plan type, and billing information within the system.
• Initiate requests for authorizations, prior authorizations, and referrals from insurance companies.
• Collect co-payments and past due balances when necessary.
• May be assigned to register, schedule patients, and answer incoming phone calls in a timely manner.
• Serve as a liaison between clinicians, scheduling, and clinical staff regarding patient authorizations.
• Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintain and model Nuvance Health Foundational Values (Personal, Imaginative, Agile, Connected).
• Perform other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of seven years or more of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in data entry.
• Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.

Benefits & Compensation

• Compensation range: $18.13 - $34.50 hourly, paid per years of relative experience.
