Responsibilities
- Obtains verification of insurance coverage and authorization from primary care office for clinical visits and surgical procedures.
- Alerts Surgical Posters and Site Managers of scheduling errors.
- Consistently pre-certs all procedures on assigned physician's schedules 2 weeks in advance. (ASC procedures, office injections, and hospital procedures).
- Alerts appropriate staff of financial responsibilities > $200 for patients.
- Communicates patient financial responsibility to the patient prior to the appointment and takes pre-collection payments.
- Communicates necessary patient financial information with appropriate office and billing personnel in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner.
- Documents, within the practice management system, all required information to include financial responsibility.
- Scans all referrals into EMR and links the referrals to the appointment in Allscripts PM.
- Perform other office duties as assigned by manager.
