Evernorth is pursuing a proficient PostgreSQL Database Administrator (Database Administrator Senior Advisor) with expertise in both cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-premise infrastructures. The preferred candidate will bring profound knowledge in systems administration, performance optimization, and Linux server management. Proficiency with automation platforms like Terraform and Ansible is highly advantageous. Within this position, you will engage with internal stakeholders to deliver resilient, enterprise-caliber database solutions supporting mission-critical applications. You will be accountable for architecting, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting development and production database environments, guaranteeing data integrity and accessibility. Furthermore, you will contribute to designing and implementing scalable cloud-based database solutions aligned with organizational policies and standards. Responsibilities: - Manage and maintain AWS Aurora, Azure, and PostgreSQL database servers across all environments. - Execute database performance tuning and optimization. - Construct and sustain monitoring and alerting systems focused on incident reduction. - Formulate and implement redundancy, failover, and backup/restoration strategies based on data retention requirements. - Support database software upgrades and patching. - Guide team members on AWS Aurora, Azure, PostgreSQL, and cloud technologies. - Offer recommendations and insights on best practices to leadership. - Participate in on-call rotation to diagnose and resolve production challenges. - Remain current with emerging database and cloud technologies and support their adoption. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field, or comparable professional experience. - Comprehensive understanding of AWS networking concepts (e.g., VPN, Security Groups, Subnets) is advantageous. - Familiarity with AWS tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and Performance Insights is beneficial. - Practical experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python). - Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning, scaling, clustering, and troubleshooting. - Knowledge of tools such as DPA, Etcd, HAProxy, Patroni, and pgBackRest is preferred. - Exceptional collaboration skills with cross-functional team experience. - Capacity to rapidly learn and support new database technologies. - Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and facilitation capabilities. - Technical acumen to ensure solutions deliver business and customer value. - Self-motivated with a proactive approach to continuous improvement. - Proven ability to implement impactful changes. - High level of integrity, energy, and work ethic. - AWS Cloud Practitioner and Certified Database certifications are a plus.
