At Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything. We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to apply Radiology AI/ML to oncology research, directly influencing the development of novel cancer therapies. You will design, develop, and validate models using real-world imaging datasets paired with clinical data and expert annotations, working within Interventional Oncology.
What You'll Do
- Conceive, develop, and implement analytics and AI/Machine learning radiology solutions for high-priority scientific problems.
- Participate in cross-functional collaborations with external companies and internal scientific, clinical, and data science teams.
- Shape internal and external collaborations and define the scope of research questions.
- Extract insight from complex, unstructured radiology or other imaging modality data to enhance decision-making in the clinical development of cancer therapy.
What We're Looking For
- A Ph.D. degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., artificial intelligence, computer science, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or similar) completed within the past 3 years, or to be completed within the next 6 months.
- Proficiency in radiology imaging modalities such as CT, PET, MRI.
- Demonstrated experience driving research in and applying Computer Vision techniques, such as Foundation models, Transformers, CNNs, Diffusion models, RNNs, GANs, and radiomics.
- Extensive experience with traditional Computer Vision applications, including OpenCV, object detection, edge detection, and image segmentation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with medical imaging modalities and formats (e.g., DICOM, nrrd, nifti) and collaborating with subject matter experts.
- Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Python or C++.
- Strong publication record and ability to effectively communicate technical work to a wide audience.
Nice to Have
- Experience applying Radiology AI/ML in clinical settings.
- Exposure to oncology, preferably solid tumors such as lung cancer.
- Hands-on technical data analysis, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), dockerization.
- Familiarity with and exposure to drug discovery and clinical development processes.
- Experience working closely with healthcare professionals.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $77,000 to $108,000.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position based in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Raritan, New Jersey, Titusville, New Jersey, or Spring House, Pennsylvania.
