Mukuru was looking for a Portfolio Coordinator

The Portfolio Coordinator plays a central role in driving project efficiency and clarity across departments. You will ensure initiatives are properly tracked, documented, and aligned with organizational standards, serving as a key support point for the Project Management Office (PMO).

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring adherence to PMO frameworks and stage-gate processes
  • Monitor project lifecycles from initiation to delivery, flagging risks, delays, and inconsistencies
  • Act as the primary steward of Asana, maintaining accurate data, optimizing workflows, and supporting automation
  • Ensure project documentation is complete, up to date, and audit-ready
  • Support project intake by reviewing submissions and maintaining high-quality records
  • Develop dashboards and reports that provide leadership with clear insights into project performance
  • Improve PMO practices by identifying gaps and recommending process enhancements
  • Support Business Continuity Planning and Occupational Health & Safety initiatives, including maintaining registers and tracking progress
  • Coach teams on project management best practices and promote disciplined delivery

Qualifications

You bring 3–5 years of experience in project or portfolio coordination, with a solid understanding of project management principles. Proficiency in Asana, Excel, or similar tools is essential. You are highly organized, communicate effectively, and thrive when managing multiple priorities across teams.

Success in this role means being detail-focused, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment. A background in fintech or large-scale operations is a plus. You naturally connect people with processes and take initiative to fix issues before they escalate.
