Recruit and support top-tier talent, develop breakthrough content approaches, and expand our impact in news media. We need a brilliant, fast-moving teammate who's self-motivated and ready to make things happen. You'll be part of the News and Politics team, reporting directly to the Head of News and Politics. What you'll do: • Recruit and manage top-tier talent across the entire political spectrum • Develop scalable best practices for social media strategy, audience growth, and digital content • Collaborate with internal teams (communications, product, data) to identify promising political creator segments • Continuously refine the Substack creator experience • Work cross-functionally to enhance political outreach and streamline creator onboarding • Support event, brand, and marketing initiatives • Position Substack as the ultimate platform where creators connect directly with their most passionate fans • Travel to DC, NYC, and SF for strategic meetings and team building About you: • 6+ years in political communications, journalism, campaigns, or media production • Located in Washington, DC (remote possible for exceptional candidates) • Deeply connected in politics and media with an expansive network • Can reach anyone — seriously, anyone — by phone or email • Understands platform-specific growth and content strategy at a granular level • Obsessed with breaking news, media trends, and political minutiae • Thrives in fast, flexible, cross-functional environments • Comfortable working with creators across the entire political landscape • Proven track record of hustling and making things happen • Natural leader who's a dream to collaborate with **Compensation** Substack offers a competitive package including salary, equity, and exceptional benefits.
