Amentum is looking for a Plumber, Lead to provide supervision and perform a variety of plumbing trade functions at one of our sites in Iraq. You will serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State, overseeing the site’s plumbing team.

What You'll Do

Maintain a safe workplace and ensure safety is the highest priority.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
Provide a full range of plumbing services, including installation and repair of pipes, fittings, fixtures, and drainage systems.
Provide supervision, leadership, and oversight to the plumbing team.
Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
Inspect structures to identify obstructions and prevent weakening during pipe installation.
Study building plans to determine required work aids and installation sequences.
Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and passage holes.
Cut openings in walls and floors using hand and power tools.
Cut, thread, and bend pipe using specialized equipment.
Assemble and install valves and pipe fittings composed of metals and nonmetals.
Join pipe using bolts, solder, solvent, and calk joints.
Pressurize pipe systems and read gauges to test for leaks.
Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and pumps.
Perform general maintenance like replacing washers and opening clogged drains.
May weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
Perform general supervisory duties and additional tasks as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Five years of journeyman plumbing or pipefitter experience.
Two to five years of foreman, lead, or supervisory experience in the Plumbing Trade.
Expert knowledge of all plumbing installations and repairs, including fixtures, water/drain systems, pumps, and fuel piping.
Ability to use trade equipment such as drills, saws, grinders, threading tools, drain cleaners, and portable pumps.
Knowledge of principles for supporting contract responsibilities at an overseas facility.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to function as a team member and be an agent for change.
Expert communication skills.
A high school diploma or GED.
A valid driver’s license from your Home of Record.
A Journeyman Plumber State License or Certification from your home state.
Certification in backflow prevention and cross-connection control.
A Welding Certification.
A valid passport with a minimum of 18 months remaining to expiration and 8 blank pages.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
US Citizenship (required for clearance).
Satisfactory English proficiency for job and safety requirements.
Ability to successfully complete and pass required medical and dental examinations for deployment.
Ability to maintain physical and dental requirements for the duration of deployment.

Nice to Have

Completion of an Apprentice Program with a Journeyman certificate, or an AA/AS degree in plumbing or equivalent field experience.
Previous out-of-home-country experience.
Previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.
Experience working with Amentum.
