Responsibilities
- Establish and evolve the long-term technical vision for the platform, ensuring scalability to handle ten times current load while sustaining over 99.95% availability, high throughput, and minimal latency.
- Identify high-impact opportunities to streamline complex infrastructure and lead the design of foundational components, delivering detailed architecture specifications and prototypes that reduce future maintenance costs.
- Reduce engineering bottlenecks by refining core platform abstractions, allowing product teams to develop, test, and release features more quickly and safely.
- Collaborate with engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines and development workflows, improving efficiency and reducing friction in the software delivery lifecycle.
- Align technical direction across decentralized engineering teams by working with product, security, and engineering leadership to ensure consistency and resolve cross-team challenges.
- Tune cloud-native AWS infrastructure for optimal performance and cost efficiency, promoting modern approaches such as microservices, event-driven design, and self-healing systems.
- Promote technical rigor by guiding senior engineers, leading architecture review sessions, and supporting a team culture rooted in ownership, autonomy, and psychological safety.
- Detect and prioritize systemic technical debt, defining practical modernization plans for legacy components that avoid disruption to live customer environments.
