Kraken seeks a Platform Accounting Analyst to play a crucial role in our month-end close and financial reporting processes. You'll support our business processes and products from an accounting perspective, ensuring accurate and timely reporting while working closely with finance leaders on reconciliations, audits, and automation.

What You'll Do

Interface daily with internal systems and our proprietary exchange platform to assist with fiat and digital asset position reconciliations across banks and crypto wallets.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Promptly research and correct discrepancies while communicating findings and actions to appropriate stakeholders cross-functionally.
Support financial reporting and regulatory requests by providing complete, accurate, and timely support for areas of responsibility.
Ensure accounting on consolidated and standalone financials complies with various regulatory environments and entities across the globe.
Independently manage and develop current reconciliation processes for greater efficiency and transparency, while analyzing data against business drivers to identify issues and trends.
Maintain and review daily, monthly, and yearly reconciliations for financial accounting issues and reporting.
Provide support for internal and external audits.
Document processes and procedures to ensure proper controls are maintained.
Participate in ad hoc requests as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field.
2+ years of accounting/audit experience from the Big 4 or national accounting firms.
Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX.
Collaborative, innovative, flexible, and adept at building relationships across the organization.
Ability to handle multiple projects and deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Microsoft Excel proficiency including pivot tables, H & V-Lookup.

Nice to Have

CPA in good standing.
Industry experience in crypto, financial services, fintech, broker-dealer, banking, or exchange.
Experience or knowledge of cryptocurrency.
Experience and knowledge of SQL.
Experience with high volume transactions.
Experience using NetSuite.
