What You'll Do
Deliver acute and emergency medical care to personnel in a remote Alaskan location, operating the on-site clinic with full clinical responsibility. You will be required to respond to emergencies at any time, day or night, with a 30-minute response window to ensure immediate care.
Lead clinical operations by maintaining medical protocols, overseeing staff performance, and ensuring adherence to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards. You will conduct regular inspections of medical equipment and facilities, ensuring all systems meet federal and accreditation requirements.
Manage medical evacuations from initiation through coordination, including administrative support and communication with operational partners. In critical situations, your priority will be stabilizing patients to preserve life, limb, or vision until transfer is possible.
Perform and interpret basic X-rays to support diagnosis and treatment decisions. Support teleradiology efforts and collaborate with remote medical teams as needed. Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant patient records and ensure proper documentation of all clinical activities.
Requirements
- Current certification and licensure as a Physician Assistant in the United States
- Proven experience delivering emergency and acute care in isolated or resource-limited environments
- Ability to supervise medical personnel and lead clinical quality initiatives
- Expertise in medical record management compliant with federal regulations
- Strong knowledge of DoD, FDA, AAAHC, and state medical compliance standards
- Experience with X-ray operation and interpretation
- Proficiency in inventory management for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies
- Commitment to 24/7/365 emergency availability with rapid on-site response
- Skill in maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment provided by subcontractors
- Experience preparing and submitting detailed reports on medical incidents and supply usage
