About the Role

Partners In Child Development, a nonprofit dedicated to maximizing every child's potential, is hiring a full-time or part-time Physical Therapist for its Early Intervention Program in the Lawrence area. You will join a multi-disciplinary team providing essential in-home and childcare center services to children from birth to age three who have or are at risk for developmental delays or a diagnosed disability.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in in-home services as well as at childcare centers and other provider locations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to address gross and fine motor delays and sensory processing disorders.
  • Create plans including exercises, stretches, and therapeutic activities designed to improve mobility, motor function, and social/emotional development while reducing the risk of future injuries.
  • Contribute to the development of the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP), including strategies and family outcomes to address each child's individual needs.
  • Provide services to clients through coordination and collaboration with team members and public, private, and community service providers.

What We're Looking For

  • A current Massachusetts Physical Therapy license, with education commensurate with holding that licensure.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pediatric setting working with children under the age of 5.
  • A current, valid driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of insurance coverage for travel between home visits.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmental milestones and delays in children, as well as the impact of emotional, behavioral, and neurological disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with sufficient computer skills to complete required documentation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families, team members, and other professionals.
  • Outstanding time management, organizational, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, empathy, and compassion for children and families.
  • A history of maintaining client confidentiality and professional boundaries and displaying integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Ability to obtain or provide a National Provider Identifier (NPI) as required by the MA Department of Public Health for Early Intervention providers.
  • A successful criminal background screening, including checks with the Commonwealth of MA Department of Criminal Justice Information Services databases.
