WACHTER, Inc., a family-owned company since 1930, is hiring a Physical Security Senior System Designer to build systems that protect people, property, and assets. In this role, you will lead the design process from initial concept through installation, collaborating closely with project managers, IT teams, architects, builders, and facility managers.
What You'll Do
- Design integrated solutions for physical security, including IP-based CCTV/camera systems, cloud-based management platforms, and biometric or credential-based access control.
- Author project specifications, produce detailed reports, and conduct on-site surveys to verify field conditions.
- Develop 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Revit, creating floor plans, wiring riser diagrams, and mounting details.
- Attend design meetings with architects, MEP engineers, and general contractors to ensure security hardware integrates without conflict.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineers to define the initial scope of work and assist the Estimating Team with accurate material and labor costs for large-scale bids.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) for collaborative, concurrent design and to optimize device placement.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure final designs comply with local building codes, life safety regulations, and client-specific security requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in security system design or a related field.

- Video Management: Verkada, Genetec, Axis Camera Station, Eagle Eye Networks
- Design & Modeling: AutoCAD, Revit
