Bosch Chassis Systems India Private Ltd. is seeking a PhD candidate for a research role focused on redefining the boundaries between artificial intelligence and complex multiphysics simulations. You will make a crucial contribution to the development of groundbreaking design methods, creating scientific knowledge that lays the foundation for a new generation of efficient and reliable components.
What You'll Do
- Develop and establish the scientific foundations for a machine learning-based multiphysics framework, using surrogate models trained on validated EHL simulations.
- Create a novel, computationally efficient, data-driven design protocol for lubricated components.
- Dramatically accelerate the design process for complex EHL problems, enabling the development of more robust, efficient, and reliable tribological components for critical industrial applications.
- Be at the forefront of integrating AI into classical engineering design.
- Become an expert in applying machine learning to complex engineering challenges.
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a comparable field.
- In-depth knowledge of numerical methods.
- Strong programming and scripting experience, preferably in Python.
- High degree of motivation and scientific curiosity.
- Ability to work independently on complex issues and find innovative solutions.
- Ability to communicate research results clearly and concisely and contribute constructively to a team.
- Ability to organize projects efficiently and keep an overview with demanding schedules.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
Nice to Have
- Strong interest or background in machine learning.
- Experience or knowledge in contact mechanics and elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL).
- Good German language skills.
