Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Pharmacist for our inpatient team at Jefferson Hospital. In this role, you will optimize patient care by promoting rational, safe, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care, including drug dispensing, intravenous admixture programs, and providing drug information.

What You'll Do

Process prescriptions, conduct prospective drug review, and independently assess medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems.
Ensure medications are accurately and efficiently compounded and dispensed.
Provide accurate and timely drug information to health professionals, patients, and the public, documenting interventions and outcomes.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage drug therapy, protocols, and guidelines.
Assist in supervising and directing the work of pharmacy technicians, students, externs, and other support personnel in daily operations.
Train pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy residents, and students in their duty areas.
Oversee daily inventory maintenance purchases and assure compliance with controlled substance regulations.
Contribute to department operations through computer functions, refilling medications, generating labels, and answering phones.
Participate in performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts, maintaining an environment of safety.
If serving as Night Pharmacist, triage and delegate nightly activities, serve as primary interface to resolve medication-related problems, and troubleshoot information technology and automation issues.

What We're Looking For

A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm D).
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of PA and/or NY at hire, or commitment to sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.
