We are looking for a Phaco Development Specialist to play a pivotal role in advancing cataract surgical care across Egypt and North Africa. You will serve as a key clinical and technical consultant, training surgeons and hospital staff to transition from traditional methods to modern Phacoemulsification.
What You'll Do
- Support the transition of cataract surgeons from ECCE/MSICS to Phaco surgery.
- Provide Operating Room, Clinic, Hospital, and Wet Lab training to enhance surgical skills and ensure proper technique adoption.
- Assist in identifying and selecting candidates for the Phaco Development Program through structured self-assessments.
- Serve as a trusted clinical and technical consultant for surgeons and hospital staff on Alcon's devices and technologies.
- Collaborate with external consultants, course instructors, and proctors to drive skill development and surgical outcomes.
- Demonstrate product and procedural excellence in OR, hospital, and wet lab settings.
- Assist in delivering Alcon Phaco Development Program courses, professional congresses, symposiums, and special events.
- Support education initiatives to enhance understanding of cataract surgery options.
- Ensure adherence to corporate compliance guidelines and reporting procedures.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including pre-course assessments, surgical observations, and post-course performance tracking.
- Handle adverse event and product complaint reporting at a local level, ensuring timely escalation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years in Clinical Application, Marketing, Sales, or a related role in a reputable medical device company, specifically in Ophthalmology/Optometry fields.
- Proficiency in English.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Willingness to travel extensively (40%) within Egypt and North Africa.
Nice to Have
- Experience as a Surgical/Medical Technologist, Biomedical Engineer, Ophthalmic Assistant, or Optometrist.
