Student Affairs Work-Study Position Focuses on Collaborative Learning Engagement
The Work-Study program in Student Affairs aims to foster interactive student discussions, promote active participation, and cultivate a nurturing academic environment. The role involves engaging in regular collaborative meetings and professional development training with campus personnel to share perspectives and prepare for future interactive sessions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Guide targeted student group discussions on a weekly basis, adhering to
- Predetermined session guidelines, utilizing standardized or equivalent content aligned with
- Specific module objectives
- Direct student conversations, carefully managing session timing, goals, and participant involvement
- Create and maintain a secure, encouraging space for student interaction, dialogue, and collaborative learning
- Engage in periodic team debriefs and training to collect cohort insights and receive preparatory materials for upcoming sessions
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate significant student health risks (mental or physical) identified during
- Group interactions or individual student encounters to campus leadership
- Support session documentation and potential content refinement
- Demonstrate willingness to develop promotional materials describing the Peer Mentor Cohort
- Program and associated student experiences
- Perform additional assigned tasks as needed
I understand that as a Work-Study student I must:
1. Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (minimum 2.0 GPA) and at least 80% attendance. Individual departments may set a higher standard. The requirements for this agreement are:

2. Ensure that my Work-Study responsibilities do not interfere with class attendance. I may not work on days that I am unable to attend scheduled classes or at times when I am scheduled to be in class.
3. Track my time accurately, and sign/submit my timecard to my supervisor each pay period.
4. Be attending at least half-time or actively enrolled for the next term.
