Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to individuals with mental health, substance use, or trauma conditions using personal recovery experience.
  • Guide and support others experiencing similar mental health, substance use, or trauma issues toward increased wellness.
  • Work in mutuality with peers to share recovery experiences in an inspirational way.
  • Support clients in developing resilience and accessing wellness tools and staff support.
  • Contribute to a program focused on restoring hope, empowerment, community inclusion, realized potential, and psychiatric stabilization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • A lived experience with mental health or substance use disorder (SUD).
  • Completion of an 80-hour Peer Support Learning training or equivalent within 90 days of hire, or having completed the training within 2 years of hire.
  • Current techniques of behavioral intervention training within six months of hire.
