Highmark Inc. is looking for a Patient Host or Hostess (SEIU - D) to play a key role in patient care by assisting with the menu selection process. You will ensure patients receive appropriate nutrition by interacting directly with them and coordinating meal service.
What You'll Do
- Interact with patients to collect appropriate food selections, edit choices, enter selections into the computer system, and verify proper dietetic physician orders.
- Utilize proper food handling and food storage techniques when assembling patient trays and when receiving, rotating, and storing food.
- Deliver and retrieve food carts and ensure that patient trays are delivered in accordance with the tray delivery schedule.
- Maintain and assemble floor stock.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to interact professionally with patients.
- Understanding of basic nutrition and dietary restrictions.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and storage procedures.
- Capability to follow detailed schedules and procedures.
- Experience with computer systems for data entry.
Nice to Have
- 1 year of food and nutrition experience.
