Modernizing Medicine, Inc. (ModMed) is looking for a bilingual Patient Claims Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for patient calls regarding balance inquiries, claims processing, insurance updates, and payment collections, ensuring excellent support for patients receiving care from ModMed BOOST service providers.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the primary contact for all inbound and outbound patient calls regarding patient balance inquiries, claims processing, insurance updates, and payment collections.
- Initiate outbound calls to patients of RCM clients to understand and address account and payment issues, including demographic and insurance updates.
- Input and update patient account information and document all calls within the Practice Management system.
- Perform other duties as required to support and enhance customer and patient-facing activities.
What We're Looking For
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Availability to work 9:30am-5:30pm PST or 11:30am-8:30pm EST.
- 1-2 years of previous healthcare administration or related experience.
- Basic understanding of medical billing claims submission and working with insurance carriers like Medicare, private HMOs, and PPOs.
- Ability to manage and field 60+ inbound calls per day.
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required.
- Proficient knowledge of business software applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on effective telephone work.
- Ability and openness to learn new things and work effectively within a team.
- Ability to remain calm in a demanding call center environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Ability to effectively manage time and competing priorities.
