Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Patient Care Technician I to join the Medical/Surgical team at Jefferson Hospital in a part-time capacity. You will provide essential direct patient care and assist with unit-level coordination, supporting nursing staff and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

What You'll Do

• Provide, obtain, perform, and document direct patient care including activities of daily living, vital signs, specimen collection, and patient transport.
• Participate in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives such as bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and falls prevention.
• Accurately document patient information and report changes in condition to the nursing staff.
• Assist with unit activities including supply stocking and equipment maintenance.
• Assist with patient exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Practice medical asepsis and respect patient dignity and privacy.
• Maintain composure and respond appropriately during emergency situations.
• Use clear communication and document care in the electronic medical record.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics.
• Basic computer skills.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Limited or no experience is acceptable; you must be able to attend 2 weeks of training.

Nice to Have

• Acute care experience within the last 3 years.
• Current enrollment in an ASN or BSN program, with preference given to candidates who have completed at least one clinical rotation.

Team & Environment

You will work under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse for stable patients and under direct supervision for acutely ill or complex patients. You will receive assignments from the Charge Nurse and/or Care Team Leader.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position located at Jefferson Hospital.
