Penn State is looking for a Part-Time Data Analyst to focus on collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to understand patron engagement and needs. This position is part of the Pennsylvania State University Libraries' Research Data Stewardship Department.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards that visualize department metrics such as consultations, workshop attendance, and feedback.
- Build and manage automated data pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources.
- Clean, transform, and normalize data across reporting systems.
- Analyze trends and patterns to inform service development and decision-making.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge and skills in data analytics and visualization tools, for example Power BI or Tableau.
- Aptitude to diagnose and solve problems as well as learn new skills quickly either independently or through instruction.
- Ability to share knowledge with others through sufficient oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work well within a team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with a statistical language such as R or Python.
