Penn State is hiring a Part-Time Center Coordinator/Admin Assistant - Center for Biodevices at Huck Institutes

About the Role

The individual will assist with day-to-day administrative functions and coordinate activities for a center dedicated to advancing biodevice technologies through scientific collaboration and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling for meetings, events, and facility usage
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for visiting researchers and staff
  • Maintain accurate records and databases for center operations
  • Assist in organizing seminars, workshops, and outreach events
  • Support grant proposal preparation and documentation
  • Handle correspondence and communications for the center
  • Track project timelines and deliverables in coordination with research teams
  • Process financial transactions and monitor budget expenditures
  • Order supplies and manage inventory for shared laboratory spaces
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries for leadership review
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and funding agency requirements
  • Facilitate onboarding for new center members and affiliates
  • Maintain website content and update event calendars
  • Coordinate equipment access and usage logs
  • Support human resources processes for temporary and student staff
  • Organize and archive research documentation
  • Assist with space planning and facility logistics
  • Promote center activities through newsletters and social media
  • Track membership participation and engagement metrics
  • Liaise with administrative units across the institution
  • Implement data security and confidentiality protocols
  • Prepare materials for advisory board meetings
  • Monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals
  • Foster communication between engineering, biology, and clinical research teams

Compensation

Hourly wage commensurate with experience
