Allegheny Health Network (AHN) is looking for a Paramedic to join our Emergency Response A-K PULSER team at Allegheny Valley Hospital. In this role, you will provide emergency medical care to sick and injured patients in the prehospital environment and effectively communicate with all persons and departments involved in the administration of care.
What You'll Do
- Drive emergency or response vehicles.
- Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and provide basic and advanced life support during treatment and transport.
- Complete required documentation according to regulatory standards.
- Maintain equipment and inventory of supplies, including BLS and ALS equipment, and be accountable for medications on every EMS unit.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination.
- For the Prehospital Response Unit: 5 years of relevant experience and current preceptor status.
- Medical Command eligible.
- PA certification as a Paramedic or licensed PHRN.
- Valid Driver's License.
- EMSVO certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- ITLS/PHTLS certification within 2 months of hire.
- PALS certification within 30 days of hire.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician, ICS 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS certifications.
- One year of experience with AHN EMS.
