Directive is hiring an Organic Social Media Intern (Remote US)

About the Role

Directive Consulting is looking for a part-time Organic Social Media Intern to help build our authentic social presence across multiple platforms. You'll be responsible for creating real-time, trend-driven content that engages our followers and fosters community.

What You'll Do

  • Plan, create, and publish scroll-stopping content across TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Create social-first assets that support blogs, marketing trends, original insights, and data-backed statistics.
  • Develop strong hooks, captions, and short-form copy to drive engagement.
  • Identify emerging platform and content trends and translate them into timely, high-performing social content.
  • Actively engage with our community by responding to comments and participating in trending conversations.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social content with campaigns, blog launches, and brand initiatives.
  • Support content marketing efforts by assisting with blog promotion, content repurposing, and light blog updates.
  • Analyze performance metrics and share insights to improve reach and engagement.
  • Brainstorm and execute creative concepts, from Reels and short-form video to memes, threads, and visual storytelling.
  • Occasionally assist with website and blog-related updates to expand full-funnel marketing experience.
  • Gain hands-on experience seeing how social and content marketing drive real business impact.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (or a recent grad).
  • Active social presence on at least two platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn).
  • Track record of creating original content that drives engagement.
  • Hands-on experience managing or creating content for at least two of the platforms listed.
  • Design experience using at least one major creative platform such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Figma.
  • Proven writing experience with the ability to craft clear, compelling copy.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills with an understanding of how design, motion, and copy work together.
  • Genuine passion for marketing, content creation, and building brands.
  • Solid understanding of platform-specific trends, tone, and algorithms.
  • A curious, experiment-driven mindset with a willingness to test ideas and iterate based on performance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with tools like Later, Sprout, Hootsuite, or native platform analytics.
  • Built a 20K+ following on TikTok or Instagram.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: $20 per hour.

Work Mode

This is a remote position open to candidates located in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the UK.
