Hero Practice Services is hiring an Optometric Technician to provide essential support in our vision practice. You will administer visual tests, operate diagnostic equipment, assist with eyewear fittings, and ensure the smooth operation of office processes. This position reports directly to the Lead Optometric Assistant.

What You'll Do

Understand, monitor, and ensure the smooth execution of office processes, including coding and optometric materials, insurance benefits, patient collection, and documentation.
Call patients regarding appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, no shows, and recalls.
Support optometrists during eye exams by preparing the patient, performing initial pre-tests, and recording results.
Accompany patients and parents during exams to pre-test the patient and assist the Optometrist in scribing and finding a good fit for glasses.
Perform vision tests such as visual acuity, color vision, stereo, confrontations, pupils, ICT, and administer dilation drops.
Help patients select frames and lenses based on prescriptions.
Process patient payments during check-in and check-out.
Ensure the practice is clean and presentable to patients, which includes cleaning restrooms, the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Participate in other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.

What We're Looking For

Ability to tech, scribe, and perform optometric tasks.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in EHR systems.
Ability to train and lead a team of Optometric Assistants.
Ability to multitask and complete tasks correctly and on time.

Nice to Have

Previous experience in a vision practice.
Knowledge of optometric online software/database, Intero Order processing systems, Google Docs, and Document Portal Spreadsheet software.
Bilingual ability.
