Responsibilities
- Assess patients upon arrival and maintain precise, consistent records of their medical backgrounds
- Collect primary patient concerns and conduct screenings including visual acuity, visual field testing, intraocular pressure measurement, pupil evaluation, eye movement assessment, pupil dilation, and blood pressure checks
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and doctors to support patient care and workflow efficiency
- Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, offering clear explanations and educational guidance before and after physician consultations
- Set up examination rooms and organize patient files in preparation for physician visits
- Conduct macular OCT scans and other necessary retinal imaging procedures
- Support and prepare for clinical procedures performed in the office as required
- Help identify and enroll eligible patients into available clinical research studies
- Carry out additional tasks as directed by supervising staff or physicians

Hourly pay, FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime

- Work hours may vary depending on assigned location, duties, or supervising physician
- Occasional weekend shifts may be required, though most work is scheduled Monday through Friday
- Position involves up to four hours of sitting daily, along with standing, walking, speaking, and hearing in person and over the phone
- Frequent use of hands for manipulating, handling, and feeling objects and controls, as well as reaching with arms and hands
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and lifting of up to 15 pounds
- Required visual abilities include close-up and distance vision, depth perception, color discrimination, and focus adjustment, particularly when reviewing digital images
- Constant use of computer systems and viewing of digital displays is required
- Acknowledgment of full understanding of the job's physical and functional requirements
