About the Role

Nomura is looking for an Operations Analyst to provide operations support for the Cash Equities and listed Derivatives business in India. You will manage key middle office, settlement, and regulatory processes while collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Handle middle office and settlement processes for Equity, Listed Equities derivatives, and clearing member activities, including margining, trade risk management, and end-of-day reporting.
  • Manage regulatory reporting such as margin reporting, collateral reporting, FPI client mapping, UCC, Holding, Shortage, and Enhanced Supervision.
  • Work independently with the trading and sales teams and other support functions like Finance, Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, and regional/global counterparts.
  • Liaise with external parties including clients, banks, custodians, exchanges, and clearing corporations.
  • Coordinate with the trader desk, clients, and global teams.
  • Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in projects and change initiatives, including setting up new processes, procedures, and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Prepare Management Information Systems (MIS) and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) reports.
  • Apply a design thinking mindset towards automation opportunities.
  • Proactively identify gaps in processes with a control mindset and independently work on solutions.
  • Work on regional initiatives and mandates.

What We're Looking For

  • 15-17 years of experience in Equity Derivatives Operations, preferably within a middle office or client-facing function.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of settlement processes, Stock Exchange regulations, and stakeholder management.
  • Sound knowledge of margining rules and other exchange/regulatory requirements.
  • A Postgraduate or Graduate qualification.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of processes related to Currency & Interest Rate derivatives and IPOs/ QIP/ Tender offer/ OFS.

Team & Environment

This role sits within the Corporate – Operations division, specifically the Equities Operations department, reporting to the Vice President – Operations.

Work Mode

This is an onsite role based at our Mumbai location – CJ House.
