Learner Education is hiring an Online Science Tutor to provide personalized 1-to-1 remote instruction. In this role, you will help students from 6th grade through college level build confidence and understanding in science subjects. You will join our mission to help students across the United States reach their full academic potential.
What You'll Do
- Support students from 6th grade through college level in Science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
- Tutor students through flexible, remote sessions that meet learners where they are.
- Connect with more students by maintaining availability during peak hours (Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 PM ET).
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional teaching or tutoring experience.
- At least 1 year of relevant U.S. teaching or tutoring experience.
- Proof of having taught or tutored within the past 2 years.
- At least 1 year of online tutoring experience.
- A strong understanding of the U.S. curriculum and grading standards.
- The ability to tutor a range of Science subjects between 6th grade and college level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A fast and reliable internet connection.
- A computer or laptop with microphone and camera.
- A quiet and professional environment for sessions.
- Direct, professional teaching or tutoring experience with students (TA, peer tutoring, grader, or lab assistant-only experience does not qualify).
Nice to Have
- Ability to tutor more than one science subject.
- Comfortable tutoring Math.
- Broader weekday and weekend availability.
- A stylus pen for clear annotations.
