Learner Education is looking for an Online Biology Tutor to help students from middle school through college reach their full academic potential. In this fully remote contract role, you’ll provide personalized 1-to-1 tutoring with the flexibility to set your own hours.
What You'll Do
- Support students in Biology from middle school through college level.
- Teach other Science subjects such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, or general high school science.
- Tutor Math (a plus that can increase schedule availability).
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3 years of professional teaching or tutoring experience.
- At least 1 year of relevant U.S. teaching or tutoring experience.
- Must have taught or tutored within the past 2 years.
- At least 1 year of online tutoring experience.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. curriculum and grading standards.
- Strong subject matter expertise in Biology, with the ability to tutor additional Science subjects.
- Ability to tutor Science subjects between 6th grade and college level.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fast and reliable internet connection.
- Computer or laptop with microphone and camera.
- Quiet and professional environment.
- Direct, professional teaching or tutoring experience with students (TA, peer tutoring, grader, SI, or lab assistant-only experience does not meet requirements).
Nice to Have
- Ability to tutor Math.
- Availability during peak hours (Monday through Thursday, 3 to 10 PM ET).
- Broader weekday and weekend availability.
- A stylus pen for clear annotations.
