GeeksOnSite is looking for an On-Call IT Technician to provide onsite technical support and troubleshooting for clients in the Cincinnati area. This is a 1099 independent contractor position where you will use your own tools and reliable transportation to service residential and small business clients independently.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac devices
- Resolve boot errors including black or blue screens and OS-related issues
- Perform full clean-ups and tune-ups for slow or unresponsive systems
- Reset Windows passwords and assist clients with account access
- Assist with wired and wireless internet connectivity issues
- Replace internal components like fans, hard drives, or RAM
- Reinstall or repair operating systems using USB or disk media
- Add shortcuts or tools as instructed for remote support access
- Provide basic training or walkthroughs to clients after service
- Document service visits and escalate complex issues when needed
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in PC/Mac repair and IT support
- Familiarity with Windows 10 & 11, macOS, and basic BIOS/boot troubleshooting
- Ability to work with limited instructions and troubleshoot independently
- Must own necessary tools including bootable USB, Windows installation media, screwdriver, etc.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfort working with clients in residential or office settings
