Fortis College Columbia is looking for a Nursing Faculty member to prepare students for nursing careers. In this role, you will be accountable for implementing the approved curriculum and providing students with the knowledge and practice skills defined by course objectives.
What You'll Do
- Implement the approved curriculum based on the mission and philosophy of the nursing program and the College.
- Provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and practice skills using varied and appropriate teaching methods.
- Plan learning activities to meet program outcomes based on standards set by policies, legal requirements, and acceptable practice.
- Participate in the program’s evaluation and continuous improvement process.
- Engage in personal professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Completion of an accredited professional nursing education program.
- A current active unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state of South Carolina or a multistate privilege to practice in South Carolina.
- A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program (Practical Nursing programs, BSN may be acceptable depending on local need).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
- Excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
- Functional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical, and laboratory teaching responsibilities.
- Competence in clinical skills in the areas of teaching.
- Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.
- Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening, required immunizations, current CPR, and HIPAA certifications.
- Provides annual documentation of continuing professional growth at the employee’s expense.
Nice to Have
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
Team & Environment
You will be accountable to the Dean/Director of Nursing.

This is an onsite position located in Columbia, SC.
