About the Role
The role involves developing and applying computational models to study trapped ion dynamics for quantum information processing. Candidates will work on simulating physical systems, improving numerical methods, and supporting experimental validation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine numerical simulations of ion trap systems
- Analyze quantum dynamics using computational physics techniques
- Collaborate with experimental teams to interpret data
- Optimize algorithms for performance and accuracy
- Contribute to the design of ion trap configurations
- Validate models against empirical measurements
- Publish findings in scientific journals
- Present results internally and at conferences
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ion physics literature
- Support software infrastructure for simulation tools
- Troubleshoot discrepancies between theory and experiment
- Implement error mitigation strategies in simulations
- Work across disciplines with engineers and theorists
- Ensure computational reproducibility
- Contribute to grant proposals and technical reports
- Participate in team planning and technical reviews
- Adapt models for new hardware configurations
- Improve numerical stability of solvers
