Mathspace is looking for an NSW Primary Mathematics Curriculum Lead (Project Manager) to lead the development of comprehensive digital textbooks for the NSW Mathematics K-6 Syllabus. This is a 6 to 12-month remote contract where you will oversee content creation and ensure materials meet high standards of curriculum alignment and pedagogical quality.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of K-6 mathematics textbook content aligned to the NSW Syllabus from planning through to completion.
- Oversee content creation workflows and coordinate with internal team members.
- Conduct thorough reviews of all content to ensure rigorous alignment with NSW syllabus outcomes, content descriptions, and the mathematics proficiency strands.
- Provide specific, actionable feedback that enables the internal team to make precise edits and maintain world-class quality standards.
- Champion the use of AI tools throughout the content development process to maximise productivity and quality.
- Continuously improve team processes and workflows by identifying opportunities to integrate new AI capabilities.
- Ensure consistency in pedagogical approach, mathematical rigour, and age-appropriate progression across all materials.
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience teaching primary mathematics (K-6) in NSW schools.
- Deep understanding of the NSW Mathematics K-6 Syllabus, including outcomes, content, and the Working Mathematically processes.
- Familiarity with the new NSW Curriculum Reform changes.
- Strong familiarity with current AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and a genuine enthusiasm for using them to enhance productivity.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide clear, specific feedback on content.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.
- A collaborative and team-oriented approach.
Nice to Have
- Experience in project management, publishing, or educational content development.
- Familiarity with primary mathematics curricula in other Australian states (e.g. Victorian Curriculum, Australian Curriculum).
- Experience with digital learning platforms or ed-tech environments.
- Experience with LaTeX or mathematical typesetting.
- A basic understanding of coding.
