About the Role

Parsons Transportation Group is hiring an NSO Sector Finance Lead to lead financial management for the National Security & Operations Sector. You will manage a $0.3M revenue portfolio with a complex contract mix and a team of ~25 employees. This role partners closely with sector leadership to deliver financial guidance, manage close processes, and support business development and M&A activities.

What You'll Do

  • Manage a $0.3M revenue sector comprised of a complex contract portfolio with a variety of contract types.
  • Partner with operation leaders, project controls, FP&A, Government Accounting, and other finance team members to complete monthly and annual business plans and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Provide comprehensive analyses of monthly operating results including identification of trends, gaps, and risk and opportunity areas.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the application of ASC 606 to the business’ contractual revenue streams.
  • Lead merger and acquisition activities including financial due diligence on acquisition targets and financing transactions.
  • Be engrained in the business development and capture process, providing expert informed financial and business recommendations and inputs to bid strategies and pricing decisions.
  • Provide analysis and evaluation of various business initiatives and enabling performance to the approved investment plan.
  • Ensure rolling forecasts and budget activity accurately reflect the business’ operational assumptions, and prepare accurate mid-period forecasts.
  • Manage review of billed and unbilled receivables to ensure cash receipts and cash flow goals are met, including accurate cash flow forecasting.
  • Demonstrate superior people engagement and management skills, including fostering a culture of high trust and transparent communications.
  • Support various internal and external audits, including internal system and control, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance audits, DCAA audits, and financial statement audits.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial capacity, preferably in the U.S. Federal Government contractor space.
  • Minimum of 3 years management experience.
  • A collaborative, open, cooperative, and supportive team player.
  • A strong communicator who builds trust with BU and Sector executive leadership team, directorates and program managers as well as corporate leadership.
  • Verifiable track record of leading, mentoring and developing a seasoned Finance team.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in providing data in varying formats to suit user needs.
  • Experience working in a public company dealing with external third-party audit as well as executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience and ability to positively impact and resolve change management issues, including REAs, ECPs, etc.
  • M&A experience supporting due diligence and integration.
  • A solid understanding of JV finance and risk management (both populated and un-populated).
  • Strong federal finance and accounting experience – FAR, CAS, FPR, certified pricing, etc.
  • Highly proficient with Costpoint, SAP, Excel and MS Office suite of business tools.

Team & Environment

You will lead a team of ~25 employees and partner heavily with the D&I team, including the Senior Vice President / Sector Manager, Sector Operations Lead, Sector Business Development Lead, Sector Project Controls Lead, Sector Program Managers, and other members of the Sector Operations Team. This role reports to the Vice President of Finance for D&I.
