As the NPI Manufacturing Manager, you will lead the execution of manufacturing strategies for new product introductions, ensuring products are designed and produced with optimal efficiency, cost, and quality. You will guide cross-functional alignment from early development through mass production, applying structured NPI methodologies to meet global operations goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and refine the NPI Playbook to ensure all critical milestones are met from concept through to volume ramp
- Develop and manage Make/Buy manufacturing plans in line with global operations strategy
- Support supplier selection and lead manufacturing readiness activities at partner sites
- Collaborate with Value Engineering to establish product should-cost models and drive cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure early integration of manufacturing input into product design using DFM principles and risk assessment tools like FMEA
- Identify and mitigate risks related to production, supply chain, and technology integration to protect launch timelines
- Lead product teardowns and benchmarking efforts to support continuous improvement
- Advance lean manufacturing and process optimization for both new and existing products
- Partner with engineering on new technology adoption and industrialization of innovative solutions
- Enhance the NPI process through digital tools, automation, and AI-driven insights
Qualifications
Candidates should bring at least four years of experience in high-tech, high-volume manufacturing environments, with a strong background in project leadership and cross-functional collaboration. Expertise in Design for Manufacturing, FMEA, and lean methodologies is essential. Fluency in both English and Mandarin is required, along with readiness to travel frequently across manufacturing locations in Asia.
A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred, as is project management certification. Experience managing multiple concurrent product launches is highly valued.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, combining remote work with on-site presence. Many positions support remote work from various locations, with flexibility built into the structure. The role requires up to 50% travel to manufacturing sites across Asia.
