Mass General Brigham (The McLean Hospital Corporation) is hiring an NP or PA to join the Radiation Oncology team at Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center. In this role, you will specialize in providing advanced practice care for patients with breast malignancies, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive support across the continuum of treatment.
What You'll Do
- Perform and record patient history and physical exams, discussing findings with physicians.
- Utilize advanced nursing knowledge to identify, prevent, or solve complex patient care problems.
- Follow and manage patients to enhance continuity of care.
- Perform or oversee specialized procedures particular to the patient population.
- Perform medically delegated aspects of patient care according to established practice guidelines.
- Collaborate with unit staff and physicians to facilitate comprehensive care plans and coordinate resources.
- Write orders in accordance with current guidelines.
- Maintain and practice within practitioner guidelines per state and hospital regulations.
- Evaluate your own practice and program effectiveness.
- Manage your professional growth and maintenance of required credentials.
- Maintain and update clinical skills based on current healthcare practice and research.
- Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and exam findings.
- Provide high-quality, timely documentation including admission notes, progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
- Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies.
What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree in Nursing
Nice to Have
- Registered Nurse (RN) State License
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) State License
- 0-1 year experience as a nurse practitioner
