CVS Health is looking for an Early Pregnancy and Family Planning Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. This role provides specialized education, counseling, and support services to individuals and couples seeking reproductive health guidance, preconception planning, and early pregnancy care. You will be responsible for patient assessment, management, and the development of comprehensive care plans.
What You'll Do
- Provide specialized education, counseling, and support services for reproductive health guidance, preconception planning, and early pregnancy care.
- Ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care while promoting informed decision-making and reproductive autonomy.
- Provide contraception education, fertility awareness counseling, and patient counseling for all forms of birth control.
- Provide early pregnancy support, including confirmation and referral coordination, and comprehensive pregnancy options counseling.
- Provide medication management for pregnancy termination.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure timely access to prenatal or reproductive health services.
- Conduct community outreach and education, developing culturally competent educational materials.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Work with diverse populations using trauma-informed care and shared decision-making models.
- Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develop appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Provide high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Perform bedside procedures appropriate to the patient population.
- Order medications and write prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies.
What We're Looking For
- A Master's Degree in Nursing is required (cannot accept experience in lieu of degree).
- A minimum of 2 years of reproductive or women's health experience.
- Strong knowledge of contraceptive methods and reproductive health guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills.
Nice to Have
- Registered Nurse (RN) State License.
- Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) State License.
- 0-1 year of experience as a nurse practitioner.
- Bilingual language skills.
- Experience in clinical, community health, or nonprofit settings.
