About the Role
The Senior Graphic Designer will lead the development of visual content for a national news network, ensuring high-quality, on-brand graphics are delivered for both live and recorded programming across broadcast and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Develop original graphics for broadcast and digital platforms
- Lead the creation of visual elements for news segments and special reports
- Translate complex stories into clear, engaging on-air designs
- Collaborate with producers and editors to align visuals with editorial goals
- Maintain brand standards across all graphical content
- Design motion graphics for live and recorded programming
- Support breaking news coverage with rapid visual turnaround
- Mentor junior designers and provide creative feedback
- Oversee consistency in typography, color, and animation style
- Work closely with art directors to execute network branding
- Create templates for recurring show segments
- Ensure accessibility and readability in all designs
- Stay current with design trends and broadcast technology
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions
- Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Revise designs based on real-time feedback
- Integrate data visualization into news presentations
- Produce promotional graphics for upcoming segments
- Coordinate with engineering teams on technical implementation
- Ensure compliance with network standards and regulations
