Tribune Media Company is hiring a Senior Graphic Designer for NewsNation. You’ll join an in-house design team creating graphics for broadcast, video, social media, and print. Your primary focus will be translating news content into compelling designs under tight deadlines.
What You'll Do
- Design daily news graphics in Photoshop, which can be complex.
- Create effective logo designs in Illustrator.
- Execute intermediate to advanced level motion graphics in AfterEffects.
- Translate top news story content quickly into compelling graphic designs.
- Design for broadcast, print, and digital media.
- Work on and help steer several projects at one time.
- Follow brand standards and design workflow protocol.
- Perform duties such as photography, photo editing, print design, large format design, environmental design, projection map design, web design, social media design, and onboarding of new team members as needed for specific projects.
What We're Looking For
- 3-5 years’ experience working in broadcast news (local or national network level), broadcast entertainment, post-production, or comparable design industry.
- Advanced graphic design and typography skills.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Advanced layout and composition skills.
- Advanced photo manipulation skills using Photoshop.
- Intermediate to advanced level motion design skills using AfterEffects.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to translate news content quickly into compelling graphic designs.
- High-level ability to design for broadcast, print, and digital media.
- Ability to work well solo or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to work on and help steer several projects at one time.
- Ability and willingness to share ideas and concepts with team members.
- Ability to follow brand standards and design workflow protocol.
- Must be able to work Saturday or Sunday, early mornings, or unconventional hours. Holiday work may be required.
- Undergraduate degree in graphic arts or equivalent experience.
- Must provide a link to an online portfolio for consideration.
Nice to Have
- Skills in InDesign, Keynote, PowerPoint, Cinema 4D, Premiere software are a plus.
