Arista Networks is hiring a Network Systems Engineer to provide pre-sales technical support for enterprise and commercial clients in the San Diego region. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor, collecting technical requirements and identifying opportunities with both existing and prospective customers.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Account Managers to understand customer challenges and conduct whiteboard network architectural reviews.
- Present Arista product solutions including Open Networking Data Center, Cognitive Campus (WiFi), CloudVision, Security, and Real-time Fabric Monitoring.
- Architect, design, and propose network solutions using leaf-spine architectures, VxLAN, and EVPN.
- Perform hands-on tests to validate customer proof-of-concept setups and network deployments.
- Create design guidelines and recommend network improvements.
- Respond to RFP/RFQs with the Sales Team.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Engineering.
- Represent Arista at industry events and conferences.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive solutions.
- Author white papers on technology and product.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of L2/L3 networking design and implementation experience focused on Data Center and Campus networks.
- Expert-level expertise in routing and switching, including L2/L3 protocols.
- Expert knowledge in three or more of: Ethernet, RSTP/MSTP, VLANs, IP Routing, TCP/IP, BGP, eBGP, VxLAN, EVPN, Multicast, Spanning Tree, QoS.
- Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard CLI.
- Knowledge of competitive products, solutions, and services.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
- Network Industry Certification (e.g., ACE:L5, CCIE, JNCIE).
- Wi-Fi expertise.
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, Pre-Sales SE, or Network Consulting Engineer.
- Previous experience with network overlays.
- Experience building network automation using Python and Ansible.
- Ability to write white papers.

Team & Environment
Part of the Sales Engineering team, typically reporting to the Regional Engineering Manager. You will work alongside skilled field engineers and collaborate with Product Management and Software Development teams.
