Lockheed Martin Canada is hiring a Naval Operations SME - ORO Training Officer to serve as the Deputy Operations Room Officer (OROCO2), embedded within a Naval Fleet School. In this onsite role in Halifax, NS, you will be instrumental in the analysis, design, development, and delivery of the Operations Room Officer Course, directly supporting Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) Force Generation needs through training development, instruction, and mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Fill the primary role as the Deputy ORO Course Officer embedded in a Naval Fleet School.
- Provide Operational level SME input into the analysis, design, and delivery of training products and services to meet RCN Force Generation needs.
- Support scheduling of training events and inter-course synchronization for the school and Lockheed Martin staff support.
- Directly support internal and external stakeholders to plan, prepare for, and deliver individual and collective training events in simulated training environments.
- Provide classroom and Trainer instruction and mentoring, and provide SME input into training requirements with the RCN before and during scenarios.
- Facilitate performance feedback to RCN instructors and students.
- Lead training continuous improvement activities.
- Provide naval operations SME support to other LMC programs, lines of business, activities, and training activities.
- Support training in the role of a Warfare Commander in a simulator environment as required.
- Support the RCN by providing instructors with lesson plan integration support and scenario development.
- Provide support to bi-coastal training teams as required to meet Customer priorities, including regular attendance at virtual meetings and travel.
- Recommend realistic operational insertions to improve training effectiveness.
- Conduct tours and provide demonstrations of the Customer's site as tasked.
- Identify and report discrepancies, issues, and observations pertaining to LM delivered products to appropriate stakeholders.
- Support Training Leads in macro and micro agile work planning and reporting.
- Support Technical Training Manager in maintaining a proactive, mutually supportive relationship with our domestic Customers.
- Liaise with Lockheed Martin engineering discipline and business development teams to collaboratively drive solutions forward.
- Support a growth mindset; seek opportunities for further development, mentorship and experience.
- Maintain a high standard of professional excellence.
- Work full-time at the Customer site with minimum supervision, following common LM processes, and identify when change needs to occur.
- Support inclusivity in our day-to-day interactions, both internally across teams and programs, as well as externally with our Customers.
