Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a MongoDB Developer for a contract role focused on data modeling, migration, and ensuring data quality and governance within our mission-critical healthcare environment. You will leverage MongoDB and related technologies to design, optimize, and secure robust data systems.
What You'll Do
- Design appropriate document structures using MongoDB's flexible schema model for optimal performance at scale.
- Implement and optimize MongoDB advanced CRUD operations and complex aggregation pipelines.
- Apply database indexing techniques and strategies to improve query performance.
- Work with MongoDB's high availability features including replication and sharding.
- Utilize MongoDB tools like Atlas, Shell, Compass, and native drivers for data operations.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through data lifecycle management, profiling, and monitoring.
- Migrate data from traditional relational databases to MongoDB.
- Develop and automate migration scripts using programming languages.
- Implement security best practices, including authentication and encryption, specific to healthcare data (PHI, PII, PCI).
What We're Looking For
- Proficiency in MongoDB data modeling, schema design, and access pattern recognition.
- Expertise in MongoDB advanced CRUD operations and complex aggregation pipelines.
- Knowledge of database indexing techniques to optimize query performance.
- Experience with MongoDB replication, sharding, and high availability.
- Proficiency with MongoDB Atlas, Shell, Compass, native tools (mongo dump/restore/import/export), and drivers.
- Understanding of data lifecycle, architecture, modeling, metadata, lineage, profiling, and monitoring.
- Understanding of relational database systems (SQL, schema design) for migration to MongoDB.
- Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and tools.
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Spring Boot.
- Experience developing with Microservices Architecture and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Expert knowledge in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud) and cloud migration strategies.
- Experience implementing data security best practices (authentication, encryption).
- Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated accountability and leadership in driving program targets.
Nice to Have
- Strong understanding of Kafka Design patterns.
- Good understanding of Mark Logic database and XQuery.
- Previous healthcare data experience (members, providers, and claims).
