Immanuel Christian School is hiring a Middle School Science Teaching Assistant. You will support the lead teacher in assigned tasks to cultivate a classroom atmosphere that encourages academic and spiritual growth. This is an opportunity to contribute to students' educational journey within a biblically based community.
What You'll Do
- Support the teacher in tasks assigned by school administration.
- Promote a classroom environment that encourages growth and maturity.
- Assume responsibility for tasks as requested by the classroom teacher.
- Participate in weekly meetings with the classroom teacher.
- Prepare and teach in specific instructional areas as requested and approved.
- Offer educational assistance to students under the teacher's direction.
- Provide assistance to the teacher with everyday classroom tasks.
- Share insights about students only with the teacher to assist in assessments.
- Communicate with parents only under the teacher’s direction and guidance.
- Be considered first for substitute teaching when the teacher is absent.
- Use contractual classroom hours to help the teacher in and out of the classroom.
- Share proportionally in duties involved in school operation and special activities.
- Assist in maintaining school-wide behavior policies.
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service conferences, and school programs as requested.

- Knowledgeable of the Bible and the Gospel message.
- Cooperative and able to function well as part of a team.
- Demonstrated desire to teach children.
- Experience working with children of the assigned age/grade level.
- Willingness to work with the classroom teacher for the educational benefit of students.
- Maintenance of a daily personal devotional life for spiritual preparedness.
- Exemplification of love and obedience to Christ and His Word.
- Attendance at an evangelical church and service in ministry.
Team & Environment
You will directly support and report to the classroom teacher and the Principal. Relationships between students, teachers, and TAs are expected to reflect a biblically based value system.
