Highpoint Virtual Academy of Michigan (HVAM), a Stride K12 partner school, seeks a Middle School ELL Teacher. This full-time virtual position is responsible for administering the K-12 ELL program, delivering personalized instruction, and providing support to students and families. You will work independently, requiring occasional travel within Michigan.
What You'll Do
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Commit to personalizing learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery.
- Augment course content using appropriate tools and maintain the grade book to ensure academic integrity.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests and make placement/promotion decisions.
- Establish positive rapport with families, communicating regularly and responding in a timely manner.
- Support learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic technical troubleshooting.
- Travel as required, approximately once per month or 20% of the time, for testing and professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree.
- Active Michigan Teaching Certification with ELL Endorsement.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- Ability to work collaboratively to interpret student data and use it to drive instruction.
- Receptiveness to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain certification and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
- Must reside in Michigan.
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday.

- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environments.
- Experience with online learning platforms.

Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary around $47,000 plus eligibility for a performance bonus.
