Carbon Health Technologies Inc is hiring a Medical Receptionist to serve as the welcoming face of our fast-paced urgent care clinic. You will be responsible for greeting and registering patients, performing key administrative tasks, and supporting an exceptional patient experience from start to finish. This role offers a unique opportunity to see how an urgent care operates while working alongside dedicated healthcare providers.
What You'll Do
- Be the first and last point of interaction for our patients.
- Greet patients and act as a knowledgeable resource.
- Schedule patients through different modalities.
- Introduce and explain the Carbon app to patients.
- Verify insurance information and collect copayments.
- Handle administrative work such as writing referrals and preparing lab paperwork.
- Work collaboratively on projects with clinical leadership to enhance the patient experience.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Essential computer skills; working knowledge or willingness to learn Google Suite is mandatory, and you must type 30+ words per minute.
- At least one (1) full year of direct experience as a medical office receptionist in a fast-paced clinic, hospital, or similar setting, or three (3) years of related customer-service experience.
- The ability to multitask effectively, with critical time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- The ability to remain focused and calm during stressful situations.
- Availability and flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
Nice to Have
- Experience and familiarity with medical insurance, including an understanding of costs, deductibles, copays, and coverage.
