Unknown Company is hiring a Medical Assistant - FPMA Primary Care - Bethel Park - Full Time

Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Medical Assistant for our FPMA Primary Care practice in Bethel Park. In this full-time role, you will work as a key member of the health care team under the direction of the provider, assisting in coordinating patient examinations, treatment, and health care planning while supporting overall office operations.

What You'll Do

• Assist in the coordination of patient care under supervision using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients within the clinical practice setting according to standardized work flows.
• Accurately obtain patient vital signs, document patient information, history, and complete tobacco and medication screening.
• May assist in the administration of depression screening tools.
• Complete annual wellness visit screenings.
• Review, update, and screen the medication list in the EHR.
• Review social history with patients and update their record.
• Pend or 'cue up' orders for required age-appropriate screenings, prescriptions, refills, or other orders based on AHN approved protocols.
• Perform back office testing following approved AHN protocols and policies.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures.
• May serve as a scribe with additional training.
• Provide follow-up with patients at designated intervals via their preferred method (telephone, electronic, written) per provider instructions.
• Notify patients of test results under the direction of the provider in a timely manner.
• Prepare exam rooms for patient visits.
• Ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies and that all patient treatment areas are stocked using established standards.
• Clean and sterilize instruments per established AHN policy and manufacturer's guidelines.
• Accurately perform lab controls and equipment checks as assigned.
• Administer and accurately document medications in accordance with policy and safe practice.
• Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) according to established standards and work flows.
• Accurately perform clerical office functions and other duties as assigned.
• May require floating/travel between physician office locations.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma / GED.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR 1 year of Medical Assistant experience OR 1 year in a direct patient care role, including vital signs. Experience must align with expected clinical duties (e.g., injections, phlebotomy, EKGs).
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Employees who have graduated from a medical assistant program within five years OR have proof of one year of work experience as a medical assistant in the last three years must complete certification training and/or attempt testing within 30 days of hire and must obtain certification within 120 days of hire.
• An accepted Medical Assistant Certification (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA).
